Zimbabwe has thanked Zambia for preserving the shrines of Zimbabweans and Zambians who died during the liberation struggle of Southern Rhodesia now Zimbabwe.
Zimbabwean Ambassador to Zambia, Charity Charamba says her country appreciates Zambia for shouldering the responsibility to preserve memories of the struggle.
Speaking at Kavalamanja and Kakaro in Luangwa, Charamba said without the ultimate sacrifice of Zambia her country would not have achieved freedom.
And Deputy Army Commander, Major General Dennis Alibuzwi says the commemoration of the liberation struggle at Kavalamanja and Kakaro has strengthened brotherly relations between Zambia and Zimbabwe.
Major General Alibuzwi says the sacrifices of both Zambians and Zimbabweans was a show of courage, determination and patriotism towards achieving a southern Africa free of discrimination.
