Ministry of General Education Permanent Secretary Technical Services, Jobbicks Kalumba says he is confident that the environment in schools is safe.
Dr. Kalumba said government does not want to risk the closure of schools because that can be disastrous.
He has urged parents to take responsibility and educate their children on the dangers of Covid 19 and the need to observe the health guidelines.
Dr. Kalumba was speaking in Luanshya on Monday, when he paid a courtesy call on Luanshya District Commissioner Patrick Maipambe.
And Maipambe said all schools, including private ones in the district have been fumigated.
Maipambe said the district received support with chemicals from the Luanshya Hindu Association.
He said face masks have been distributed to all schools in the district as schools re-open today.
