Government has reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that people who were displaced from the Gwembe Valley to pave way for the construction of the Kariba Dam receive support to enable them lead normal lives.
Government is now constructing Ngologozi dam in Zimba district as a source of Water to enable those who settled in Chief Simpatunyana’s area engage in various livelihood activities.
Southern Province Minister Edify Hamukale visited the dam to assess its impact on the welfare of the people.
Speaking on behalf of the settlers Village Headmen Coordinator Madison Maambo thanked Government for the dam construction.
Ngologozi Dam once fully completed will service over 13 thousand people in the area.
