Council of Churches in Zambia General Secretary Emmanuel Chikoya has called for peace , unity and patriotism among Zambians.
Reverend Chikoya says it is important for the general Citizenry to remain focused and work on things that unite the nation as opposed to those that divide it.
Speaking to ZNBC News in a telephone interview, Reverend Chikoya said the council will continue to work with government to ensure national morals and values are upheld.
Reverend Chikoya said the call by President Edgar Lungu to citizens to uphold national morals and values must be taken by all.
He said it is important to note that government reaffirms it’s commitment to ensure national morals and values are upheld as they are key for national development.
Meanwhile, Non- Governmental Gender Organisation’s Coordinating Council -NGOCC- Chairperson, Mary Mulenga said the council is happy with strides being made by government in ending Gender Based Violence -GBV-.
Mulenga said the move by government to create more fast track courts against GBV cases across the country is a welcome move.
