Vice President Inonge Wina has urged Zambians to remain united and uphold humanitarian values that first President Kenneth Kaunda championed.

Wina also says Dr. Kaunda will be remembered for his contribution to the education sector.

She says President Kaunda introduced free education as a way of improving the lives of people in the country.

The Vice President was speaking on Friday during the funeral Church Service for Dr. Kaunda in Solwezi – North western province.

And first-born son of the first President, Lieutenant Colonel Panji Kaunda has called on traditional and Political leaders not to divide the country through tribal lines.

Col. Kaunda has challenged traditional leaders not to use tribe to split the nation saying this is the only way Dr. Kaunda legacy can be honoured.

Meanwhile, traditional leaders in North Western Province have challenged Political leaders to emulate the sacrifices that the First Republican President exhibited to the country.

Speaking on behalf of the Traditional leaders, Chief Ishima of Zambezi District said political leaders should not focus on enriching themselves but improving the lives of the people.

The North western province tour marks the third day of the provincial stopovers after Choma in Southern and Mongu in Western provinces.
