The ruling PF has welcomed the decision by the Electoral Commission of Zambia-ECZ to partially lift campaigns for the party and opposition UPND in Lusaka.

Patriotic Front Deputy Media Director Edwin Lifwekelo says members of both parties should continue to introspect on the need to conduct peaceful campaigns in Lusaka.

He says the PF will continue to call for personal responsibility among its members to ensure peaceful environment ahead of the August 12, 2021 general election.

Lifwekelo has therefore appealed to the UPND leadership to tame their cadres by preaching peace and need for taking collective responsibility.

He said this in a statement made available to znbc News in Lusaka Tuesday.

On Monday, the ECZ announced partial lifting of the suspension for campaigns in Lusaka involving the ruling PF and opposition UPND.
