Close to 400 opposition members of the United Party for National Development – UPND and National Democratic Congress -NDC- in Kitwe’s Chimwemwe Constituency have defected to the PF.

The UPND members were led by their constituency vice Chairperson for administration Kennedy Nyambe.

Nyambe has accused the UPND of being hateful.

He said any candidate who will stand on the PF ticket will win because people are seeing what President Edgar Lungu is doing.

And NDC Kitwe District Youth Chairperson Justine Katongo said they have decided to work with the PF because they have seen the good things that is being done in the country.

Katongo said he will work hard to ensure that the PF wins the August general election.

Receiving the defectors, PF Kitwe District Chairperson Everisto Chilufya asked the PF members to work in unity with the new members.

Chilufya said the goal of the party is to ensure that President Lungu gets to State house on August 12.

He urged the PF members to continue explaining to the people the good works that President Lungu has done and continues to do for the country.
