The Party of National Unity and Progress -PNUP- says opposition alliances can never work in Zambia because most times, their initiators have selfish motives.

Party President Highvie Hamududu has since advised other opposition political parties to get back to the drawing board and agree on policies instead of fighting to unseat the ruling party.

Hamududu says most alliances are established to win elections and usually do not last because their basis is not in good faith.

He notes that genuine alliances must be based on common policies to work for the nation and improve the economy.

Hamududu was speaking at a press briefing in Kitwe on Wednesday.
