PF presidential running mate Nkandu Luo’s Campaign Manager Given Lubinda says President Lungus absence from the political scene is to show respect to late Dr. Kaunda’s legacy.
Lubinda who is also PF Manifesto Committee Chairperson says it is because of the great attachment to Dr. Kaunda’s legacy that President Lungu has decided that he will not make any political statements during this mourning period.
Lubinda says those who have been following social media and wondering why President Lungu has been absent must know that the reasons are because he wants to lead the country to honour Dr. Kaunda’s legacy.
Lubinda says President Lungu will relaunch his campaign after July 7, after Zambia’s First President Dr. Kaunda has been put to rest.
He was speaking in Livingstone when he addressed PF leaders and candidates during a capacity building meeting.
He says the Patriotic Front, unlike other opposition parties, has decided not to hold any public campaigns during this mourning period.
And Lubinda says President Lungu and the PF party will not risk the lives of Zambians through holding public rallies and road shows during this campaign period.
He says President Lungu believes the life of every Zambian is more important than winning an election and that the PF wants to win the elections based on the good health of its citizens.
And speaking at the same event, PF southern Province Chairperson Lawrence Evans urged the PF candidates to read the PF manifesto and use it as a campaign tool.
Evans says the candidates and PF officials in the province must use the manifesto coupled with the development projects to convince Zambians to vote for the Party.
