The disaster Management and Mitigation Unit- DMMU says it is ready to provide the necessary help to Luangwa district administration once a comprehensive report is submitted, following the flooding of the entire Central Business District.

DMMU- National Coordinator, Chanda Kabwe has visited Luangwa district to appreciate the situation.

Kabwe has noted that 6 schools have been affected and over 1-hundred and 12 traders have lost their businesses, after their shops were flooded.

He has explained that the Ministry of General Education will be engaged over the fate of the learners.

Several houses have also been affected by the floods, caused by water from the Luangwa river, which has burst its banks and heavy rains being experienced in the area.
