An angry Hakainde Hichilema yesterday called for an urgent extraordinary meeting to discuss the defection of Mr. Charles Kakoma to the PF and other pertinent issues affecting the Party.

Mr. Hichilema told members that their actions or lack thereof were denting the image of the party in the eyes of the public because people were now thinking that there is something wrong with the party’s leadership. He singled out Hon. Mweetwa and Hon. Kang’ombe for saying they may or not recontest their seats by calling their actions as irresponsible and childish.

‘’Gentlemen you are now playing with leadership. I will not tolerate this nonsense because you are becoming irresponsible. Mweetwa and Iwe Kang’ombe what’s wrong with you? Your statements were irresponsible and childish. Why are you playing with leadership? You were kneeling for votes and now that you’re in leadership, you have decided to start playing games. Let me put it crystal clear here – the door is wide open for anyone who wants to leave. Leave now or forever stay. I wont tolerate this nonsense at all whereby today you say this and tomorrow something else,’’ said a visibly angry HH.

On Mr. Kakoma’s defection to the PF Mr. Hichilema said Mr. Kakoma was not a factor who can win the PF votes in Northwestern Province. He also accused Mr. Kakoma of being broke and made it strongly clear that he won’t forgive and accept him back when he becomes Republican President because he never talked to him before deciding to defect to the PF and that he felt betrayed.

Mr. Hichilema also blatantly told those that won’t be adopted and are thinking of defecting to the PF to immediately withdraw their applications and defect to the PF because he can’t stand anymore the nonsense of PF humiliating him over defections.

Mr. Hichilema spoke for close to two hours and never allowed anyone else to speak in the meeting. The meeting was held at his residence in New Kasama and members complained that no water was served in the 2hour long meeting. They were all ordered to leave immediately after the meeting was over.
