Vice President Inonge Wina has called on Zambians to honor the Memory of the country’s founding father Kenneth Kaunda by ensuring that they hold on to his values and ideas.

Wina says the best way to honor Dr. Kaunda is to ensure Peace and unity is promoted by upholding the one Zambia one Nation slogan.

The Vice President said this in a speech read for her by Deputy Secretary to the Cabinet in Charge of Finance, Dr. Michael Masiye during the state funeral service held at the Godfrey Uca Chitalu Stadium in Kabwe.

Central Province Permanent Secretary Bernard Chomba said Dr. Kaunda was a gallant man who promoted development in Central Province and in all parts of the country.

He urged Zambians to mourn Dr. Kaunda with dignity as he was the father of the nation were promoted peace and unity in the country.

Meanwhile, Dr. Kaunda’s son Panji Kaunda called on all political parties to come together and honor his father’s memory and safeguard the country’s peace.

Colonel Kaunda said it is up to political players to ensure peace and unity in the country prevails.
