United Party for National Development – UPND – leader Hakainde Hichilema is being gullible to think his deceit and propaganda against Mwine Lubemba Paramount Chief Chitimukulu Kanyanta Manga Sosala II will make him ascend to power, the Patriotic Front has charged.

In an interview with the PF Media Director, Mr Sunday Chanda said Bemba-speakers will use the ballot to judge the UPND harshly for its continued disrespect and attacks on their paramount chief.

Mr. Hichilema has sponsored its media outlets through Brian Mwiinga who runs Koswe social media platform to Photoshop am image of Chief Chitimukulu as a means to subject the Chief and Bembas to public scorn and ridicule.

“From a leader who, for five unsuccessful attempts, has failed to win the hearts of Zambians, we expect such negative propaganda against Chiefs, particularly in the North and South, to get more nastier as we head towards the 2021 general election,” said Mr Chanda.

Mr. Chanda said Mr. Hichilema is trying to use the same deceit he used to ascend to the UPND presidency and remove the presidential term-limit in the UPND party constitution to now ascend to national leadership.

The PF media chief accused the UPND of being in panic mode as they sense the sixth defeat of Mr. Hichilema.

“Our brothers and sisters in UPND want to show relevance to their foreign funders who are providing campaign them with resources to fuel negative propaganda against Zambia and any person who stands ready to discharge a constitutional duty of protecting the country’s good image,” said Mr. Chanda.

In September 2020, Paramount Chief Chitimukulu declined to meet UPND President Hakainde Hichilema because his alliance partner late James Lukuku kept insulting him. Mr Hichilema has since the death of Lukuku found it difficult to find a replacement who can be used as a vehicle to directly or indirectly disrespect the Bemba chief.
