A resident of Chongwe’s Palabana area has hailed President Edgar Lungu’s government for not being selective in delivering development and help to people in the country.

Mweemba Maundu says the development and help that government continues to render to the people especially those hit by disasters is unprecedented.

Maundu said this when Chongwe Member of Parliament Japhen Mwakalombe visited a family whose house was gutted on Monday in the area.

Mwakalombe donated food stuffs, blankets, iron sheets and ten bags of cement worth over thirty Thousand kwacha.

And the owner of the house, Sweden Munangwa said the fire was caused by a relative on Monday who was visiting and later tried to charge his phone using the solar system installed in the house.

Munangwa has since appealed for help from well-wishers.

Meanwhile, Chongwe District Community Development Officer Ngambo Mukanda said her office will put the family on food security pack program to lessen the burden.
