Copperbelt Province Permanent Secretary, Bright Nundwe has called on security wings in the province to implement stringent security measures at all borders to curb smuggling of mealie meal and other grains.

Mr. Nundwe, who was in Mufulira to check on Covid-19 preventive measures, says
there is need for security wings to increase vigilance at the borders to protect the country’s food basket.

Meanwhile the Permanent Secretary called on media houses to uphold objectivity in their reporting as the country goes to polls this year.

The Permanent Secretary also took time to interact with Marketeers at Malela Market and promised them that disbursement of the Presidential Empowerment Fund in Mufulira, will take place this week.

Mr. Nundwe urged the Marketeers to use the money wisely.
