THE Biomedical Union of Zambia has called for the dissolution of the Zambia Medicines Regulatory Authority.
BMUZ president Daniel Mwimbe says Minister of Health Jonas Chanda should quickly move in and protect Zambian lives by immediately dissolving the ZAMRA board and putting in a new team that will guarantee the safety of the general public as well as win their confidence.
He says it is disappointing to see what is happening at ZAMRA where products which had already been distributed and used are being recalled.
“It just speaks of the incompetence and inconsistency in the team at ZAMRA”, he said.
Mwimbe says the Ministry of Health and all institutions under the minister must work hard to rebuild the image of the ministry and make it one of the best in the country.
“We deal with delicate issues of life and death and we must always be very cautious when conducting our business under Ministry of Health,” Mwimbe said.
